An article published today by The Lad website offers advice on finding a job and career for your children.
The article has been updated to include an email exchange between The Lad and the owner of the website, and to remove the reference to ‘job search’.

The Lad founder, Stephen Parnell, has previously told The Lad: “Our job search site is not a job board.
It’s a place where you can go and put your questions and concerns about your future.”
Mr Parnll said the site was a “home for all parents looking for a job, whether it’s to buy your own house, or to find out more about your child’s future”.
He told The Australian that he did not want parents to be “bamboozled” into taking a job or job search.
“You can go to a job site and it’ll tell you what your options are, and it won’t tell you how to get them,” he said.
“I’m saying that parents should be looking at this from the right place, and not be duped into it.”
The Lad was created by Stephen Pang and his partner Rebecca, and launched in January 2017.
Mr Pang is a former professional poker player and entrepreneur who had previously worked in finance, media and advertising.
The website provides job listings and offers a range of career advice, as well as a weekly newsletter.
The publication has received criticism for failing to mention that some of the job listings are “for hire”.
Some parents have also questioned the accuracy of the information provided on the site.
“My kid can go on to a great career, but when they get a job at that company, the website says they’re no longer on a waiting list for a position, and therefore no longer qualified for a certain position,” said one parent.
“If this is so, why are the jobs being advertised on a job search platform?”‘
Too much information’Parents are entitled to their opinion, and there is a large number of comments on the website.
But Mr Pang said the job search results did not reflect the quality of the jobs advertised on the job board, and also that the site did not give parents the right to see any information about the companies offering the positions.
“The job board is a way for employers to identify who’s available, but not everyone has a job,” he told The Advertiser.
“We want to be clear, there are some very, very qualified people out there, but it’s not as good as what’s on the real job board.”‘

“When people go on The Lad, they’re looking for job opportunities, but that’s not their job, their job is to be parents,” said Mr Parnl.
“It’s not for the website to tell them how to find jobs.
If a job’s available in your area, the job is on The Lad.”
He added that the job boards’ content is not to be taken as a guide to how to make the best career choices.
“All the information that we give to parents is really up to them, so they can choose the best job,” Mr Pannell said.
“If you can’t make the right choice, then don’t go on the The Lad.”
“We have never taken any responsibility for the quality, or accuracy, or any of the advice provided to parents on The Led.”
