“I love it, I love it,” said a woman who gave her first name as Rajesh, as she sat at a table of a local café and was talking about her love of online dating.
“I’m going to be an online dating professional, and I’ll be able to help people with their online dating queries,” she said, as a crowd of women and men applauded her.
“I will be a person that will provide them with beautiful pictures of themselves online.”
Rajesh is not the only Indian woman who’s taking the online dating plunge.
There are over 5.6 million Indian online users, according to data from analytics firm Canalys.
And while some people use the sites to meet new people, others choose them for more than simply a connection.
While there’s no data on how many Indian women are looking for a career or to make money online, one thing is clear: there’s a lot of interest in a career in India.
As part of India’s Digital India programme, which aims to boost digital connectivity in the country, online dating platforms like Baidu and Bumble, as well as mobile apps like Whatsapp and Grindr, are seeing a surge in popularity.
They are also increasingly used by young people, who are looking to find friends in a new country.
According to Baidus data, in 2017, over 10 million Indians used the platforms, which has grown by 30 percent since 2017.
India’s digital economy is also getting more and more important, said Shabnam Mehta, an assistant professor of sociology at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi.
She believes this is due to India’s economic woes and the government’s clampdown on tax evasion.
Mehta said that as a result of the clampdown, Indian women have started to opt for job postings in a bid to earn extra cash.
“We are going through a difficult time in India right now.
People are feeling insecure and insecure about the economy,” Mehtas told Al Jazeera.”
This has created a lot more opportunities for people to look for work online.
But women are still excluded from this.”
In India, the online job market is a hotbed for job scams.
According to one study, there are over 2 million job advertisements on job portals and online platforms.
In 2017, nearly 1.5 million job listings were found to have been defrauded, according the study.
“Women have been getting a little bit of a scare in the last two years because of the online economy, and people are going to get scared again, and there are more scams,” Mehts said.
While the number of job postings online is rising, there’s still a significant gap in terms of women’s representation.
According the 2018 National Employment Survey, women made up just 4 percent of the total workforce.
Mehts says there’s hope that a change in laws, policies and expectations can make a significant difference.
“If there is no discrimination against women in terms.
of jobs, then we can have a better job market for women,” she added.
